15 injured after minibus taxi crashes into Durban shelter

Fifteen people have been injured in an accident involving a minibus taxi at the Durban CBD.

It’s reported the taxi lost control and plunged into another vehicle before colliding with multiple pedestrians on Warwick avenue near the Old Dutch Road.

"It’s alleged that a taxi lost control and ploughed into a vehicle before crashing into a shelter. Paramedics found patients on the scene who had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious with one patient sustaining critical injuries," says ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.
"All of the injured were stabilised on scene by Advance Life Support Paramedics before they were transported to various hospitals by various ambulance services. At this stage the events that led to the collision are unknown."
